THE family of Titus Josiah Naidu, 16, who was stabbed to death near a tuckshop in Phoenix, are demanding justice.
Titus, a grade 10 pupil at Eastbury Secondary, was stabbed on Southvale Road last month. He was taken to a clinic where he later died.
Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala, a provincial police spokesperson, said two suspects, aged 16 and 22, were arrested and charged with murder.
According to police reports, a witness alleged the victim and the suspect fought about whose district it was.
On Thursday, the Naidu family, with friends and supporters, protested outside the Verulam Magistrate’s Court against the suspects being granted bail.
Nancy Naidu, Titu’s mother, said she had also started a petition and collected more than 100 signatures against the granting of bail.
